Sam & Matt’s wedding day at The Cow Shed started with blue sky and bright sunshine, which is just how we like it. Ok we had heard tell of torrential rain later, but The Cow Shed at Freathy is a fabulous rustic wedding venue and September is usually not-too-bad, so we cheerfully ignored all of that!
On a fabulously hot summer day at the end of August, I had the privilege of photographing Natalie & Jason’s beautiful wedding at the Carbis Bay Hotel.

You see it all the time in wedding blogs & magazines, but what does having an âunplugged weddingâ actually mean?
Well an unplugged wedding is exactly that, your guests unplug themselves from phones, ipads (other tablets are available…), cameras (yes Uncle Bob that means you too!) and any other device or technology lurking in their bags or pockets. Its about enjoying the moments as they happen, looking around and seeing friends and family, seeing the emotions & feeling the love. We live in a world where people constantly check their phones, take photos and upload them to the social media platform of their choice, but no bride wants to be faced with a wall of phones as sheâs about to walk up the aisle. Sheâs excited and nervous and would much rather see everyoneâs smiling faces.
So should you have an unplugged wedding?

Our first wedding fair of the season will be this fabulous affair at the Carbis Bay Hotel in St Ives. We’re a recommended supplier for Carbis Bay and its definitely on our favourite venues list! How fast is January whizzing by?! Christmas seems like months ago and we’re looking forward to another year of beautiful wedding photography in Cornwall, Devon and beyond this year. But 2017 was fabulous as well and we even managed to visit some of our favourite venues several times!
We’ve spent the afternoon compiling a few of our favourite images from some of our lovely 2017 weddings! Some are posed, most are not, but each image has our signature natural, romantic and bespoke style. Thank you 2017 brides & grooms – and thank you to all of the hard-working wedding co-ordinators that we had the pleasure of working with. We loved you all!! (more…)

Another gorgeous Carbis Bay Hotel wedding. This time at the end of a very busy summer season, when the hotel and beach were full of holiday makers enjoying the spectacular surroundings. Itâs a definite perk of being recommended wedding photographer at the Carbis Bay Hotel that we get to see the bay in all its glory throughout the year.

Well our second visit of the week to beautiful Polhawn Fort wasnât quite so kind to us weather-wise. We hadnât had the opportunity to meet up with Nicky & James before their wedding, but thatâs not unusual when everyone is so busy and especially for a military wedding. (more…)
