Victoria & Alan at Ansty Hall, Coventry

When Victoria & Alan attended a wedding fair at Anstey Hall near Coventry they realised they’d found their perfect venue. These two have to be the most organized couple I’ve ever known, and it certainly showed on the day when everything ran like the proverbial clockwork! We kept a wary eye on the weather, which eventually decided not to play fair, but it didn’t matter. Bridal preparations were very laid back & Victoria looked absolutely stunning in her Ronald Joyce dress with just the right amount of sparkle.  She certainly lit up the room – quite a few tears of emotion were spotted & not just from the groom! The ceremony had a wonderfully happy feel to it and to reflect their shared love of Terry Pratchett’s writing there was a brilliant reading from one of his books. The rain stopped just long enough to get the shot we wanted of everyone outside the Hall, and I have to thank the super-helpful chap on reception who actually took the photo for me (couldn’t take it and be in it too could I…).

The reception room looked absolutely beautiful – full marks to everyone involved, especially Victoria who actually made the miniature jam pot favours herself, and Victoria’s mum Kate who made the scrumptious cake. More Terry Pratchett inspiration came in the table names – a little tricky for the uninitiated to pronounce! The food was lovely & speeches were great, especially from the best man who gave us a brilliant insight into Alan’s childhood!  More friends & family arrived for the evening celebrations and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We certainly had a great time and wish them a wonderfully long & happy life together x

Claire & Tim at Germoe Church & Porth en Alls

Working as a wedding photographer in Devon and Cornwall makes it possible to meet some truly wonderful people and to visit some of the hidden gems in and around the west country that you’d never normally get to see.

It’s difficult to describe this wonderful wedding and do it full justice!  Having decided on a rainbow/vintage theme for their wedding, Claire & Tim found a beautifully unique venue for their reception  – Porth en Alls is right by the sea and the house itself reminded me of something from ‘Alice in Wonderland’ with its quirky rooms & corridors.  The beautiful & unusual flowers from eco-friendly florist Daisy Roots arrived while Claire and her nine bridesmaids were getting ready.  It was quite a feat getting everyone curled & coiffed & into those petticoats!  But when everyone was ready I hopped on the vintage coach with the bridesmaids, and Claire and her Dad travelled to the beautiful Germoe Church in a horse-drawn carriage; those horses were so gorgeous!  Tim & the boys all looked fab in uber-cool hats & seriously bright ties too.  The service was lovely – all the little bridesmaids sitting amidst a sea of frothing petticoats made everyone smile, and Booboo (Claire & Tim’s rescued greyhound) made an excellent ring-bearer!

Back at the house the reception was held in the most amazing tipi marquees (think giant hats…) and the sun finally decided to shine on the proceedings.  Speeches were rather emotional, and the evening barbecue was a huge success, as was the Uley Cotswold Bitter, brewed by a relative of Tim’s!

Claire & Tim, we wish you both a long & happy life together – full of rainbows!
