Well our second visit of the week to beautiful Polhawn Fort wasn’t quite so kind to us weather-wise. We hadn’t had the opportunity to meet up with Nicky & James before their wedding, but that’s not unusual when everyone is so busy and especially for a military wedding. (more…)

Bethan & Dan’s Quirky & Laid-Back Wedding at Polhawn Fort (with surfboards!)
Sometimes we are so lucky with our beautiful Cornish weddings that we have to pinch ourselves! One of our absolute favourite coastal wedding venues is Polhawn Fort. It’s such a romantic and unique setting on the beautiful Rame Peninsula.
When Bethan and Dan got in touch with us about capturing their wedding at Polhawn Fort, it was a lovely surprise to hear that they lived in the same town as us. With Dan’s family being in Cornwall and a lot of their friends living locally, Polhawn was an obvious choice. But with Bethan’s family travelling from Wales it was very much a priority for everyone to have a relaxed and fun day. Polhawn Fort had been able to offer them a short-notice booking, and Bethan did an amazing job getting everything arranged while being super-mum to their little boy. (more…)
Sanita & Omar at The Carbis Bay Hotel – Cornwall Wedding Photography
Sanita & Omar chose the gorgeous setting of Carbis Bay for their early Spring wedding, even though they’d never visited Cornwall before! The whole day was an enormous party for family & friends, most of whom had travelled from Birmingham but some had come from as far as the USA to be with them. The day started with traditional bridal preparations for Sanita, while brave Omar ran the gauntlet of Sanita’s female relatives in a traditional ‘barting for the bride’ ceremony at the hotel door! The day was a real mixture of cultures and it was fun from start to finish, but possibly the most amusing part of the day was watching the usually land-locked bridesmaids run into the sea, shriek “its freezing!” and run back up the beach 🙂
Later on, after the traditional English wedding part of the day was over, everyone changed into their Asian wedding clothes and looked absolutely fabulous! Sanita (completely radiant in her red sari) and Omar were ‘drummed’ onto the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. An amazing dance party carried on – so much energy after such a long day! The day ended with a fantastic fireworks display over Carbis Bay Beach. Rain really didn’t stop play for this wedding at all, and we wish you both all the love and luck in the world for a fantastic future together 🙂

Bark Online? Just give us a call…
Just a little bit of info about ‘Bark’ online tendering. We are getting on average 3 emails through each day from ‘Bark Team’ regarding potential wedding customers, and so are many other photographers.
What customers may not know is that it would cost us £10 to reply to each email, with no guarantee of getting the job or even getting a response from the customer.
Absolutely no disrespect to Bark. For large companies and other industries this is probably ok, but as the majority of wedding suppliers are small businesses it makes more sense to contact them directly. That way you are guaranteed to get a reply, and even better they can tell you all about their latest special offers!
Catrina & Clifton at The Carbis Bay Hotel, near St Ives Cornwall
Earlier this year we had the pleasure of photographing Catrina & Clifton’s beautiful wedding at The Carbis Bay Hotel. We did a lot of travelling about that day! After Catrina’s preparations (make up & hair at the Carbis Bay Hotel followed by dressing at The Mustard Tree B&B) we headed off to the church for one of the most heartfelt services we’ve ever had the privilege to photograph. Then it was back to the Carbis Bay Hotel, with a stop off en route at a country location to give them both a few minutes to themselves, and also to capture some beautiful photos of course!
Fabulous beach wedding photos, a full-on party (with our photobooth for added fun!) and some amazing fireworks on the beach ended a thoroughly enjoyable day! Catrina & Clifton were an absolute joy to spend time with, as were their lovely families & friends. We wish you all the love & luck in world for your happiness together 🙂

Catherine & John at Pentillie Castle
Back at the end of September 2014 we spent our own wedding anniversary working……photographing another wedding! But we didn’t mind at all, in fact we had a brilliant day with Catherine & John and their fabulous family & friends 🙂
Pentillie Castle and Estate is definitely one of our favourite places to be. Our own studio is literally just across the road and how lucky are we!!
Catherine & John were so chilled about the whole day they were an absolute joy to work with. Every detail was beautiful, especially the brilliant Flowers by Catherine – flowers in muddy boots – perfect for a farmer.
The highlight of a Pentillie wedding is being driven around the estate in a landrover full of mud, hanging on for dear life and trying to stop cameras bouncing all over the interior! Its well worth it for the views though – such fabulous photo opportunities 🙂
We’re looking forward to more Pentillie Castle wedding photography this year, and this certainly was a lovely day for a wonderful couple. If you’re planning a wedding there why not get in touch. You can see lots more images from this gorgeous wedding on our facebook page.
