Another fabulous wedding from last year – Anneka & Mark at St Mawnan Church & Trerose Manor. Mark looked a little nervous when he arrived at the church – probably something to do with all those ceremonial swords he was carrying – but Anneka’s smile really lit up the church when she walked up the aisle. The weather even behaved itself and we had a fabulous blue sky when we dashed to the beach. Back at the tipi marquee the homemade bunting & fairy lights looked amazing – well done to all the family members who worked so hard on all the decoration. The pinboard map of the world titled ‘where should we go on our honeymoon?’ was also a brilliant idea. Being wedding photographers in Cornwall we always meet such lovely people, and we were certainly sorry to leave these two. A lovely couple and a great day all round!
Another fabulous Carbis Bay Hotel wedding. A radiant bride, cute bridesmaid, beautiful weather and happy guests all equal very happy cornish wedding photographers! And when your bride starts cartwheeling across the beach (thanks Becky!) it just gets better and better 🙂 x
Another simply gorgeous day for a wedding in Cornwall with another stunning bride! Victoria & Simon put oodles of effort into their vintage inspired wedding. I think everyone will agree that Victoria’s dress is one of the prettiest around. Even the registrar was lost for words! There were so many vintage & personalised touches it was hard to know what to photograph first, but full marks have to go to Simon for his beautiful hand-drawn images of local cornish beaches x
There was a hint of rainy-day weather for Kathryn & Calvin at the Carbis Bay Hotel, but it certainly didn’t stop them from enjoying themselves. As usual Natasha Flower did a beautiful job of the ladies makeup and Calvin looked quite dapper too! The team at the hotel did themselves proud with the scrumptious food and decoration of the Sands Restaurant for the reception. And yes that cake really was chocolate and fresh blueberries 🙂 We even managed to brave the raindrops and get down to the beach! A great day for a lovely couple. Thank you for including us as your wedding photographers!
Another lovely wedding at the Carbis Bay Hotel! Matthew & Laura have to be one of the most laid-back couples we’ve ever photographed, in fact all the guests were so chilled it was an absolute pleasure to be involved in this wedding. Laura’s pale blue colour scheme was so pretty – the bunting, the blue spotty buckets with hydrangeas, even the chocolate decorations & tiny flags on the amazingly delicious-looking sandcastle cake all looked gorgeous. The sun didn’t shine but no one cared, and when you’re a wedding photographer in Cornwall you just have to go with the flow! We got some beautiful & natural shots on Carbis Bay Beach, and the whole event just had such a happy feel. Matt & Laura we wish you both lots of love & luck for the future x
Now I know I’ve said before that there are lots of perks to being a wedding photographer in cornwall…….but on a sunny day you just can’t beat ice-cream! Admittedly it can be difficult juggling cameras and a cone of ferrero rocher (note favourite flavour there) but believe me when the ice-cream comes from Mr B’s in Hayle an effort has to be made. If you’re after something a little different to surprise your wedding guests then their vintage van is a must. And if you’re just out and about in Hayle do pop into the shop. I warn you though, its almost impossible to choose just one flavour…and then there are the delicious ice-cream cakes…..yum! Here are a couple of images from one of our favourite weddings at The Carbis Bay Hotel.
Another great day at the Carbis Bay Hotel – and even the weather behaved for us. The hot pink theme warmed up a slightly grey day, but nothing was going to stop the wedding party from letting off steam on the beach after the ceremony! Phil & Vicky – and the boys of course – we wish you all the best for a happy life together x
Another wonderful day of wedding photography in Cornwall at the Carbis bay hotel. Well what can I say about these two, except they are just great fun! Katie looked absolutely stunning (and very Cheryl Cole-like) in a gorgeous dress & no small amount of sparkle. Even her shoes had ‘I Do’ written in sparkles underneath! The atmosphere was calm, fun & friendly and I couldn’t believe how quickly the morning whizzed by.
Bobby’s face was a picture when Katie walked down the aisle, the ceremony was very touching and there were a few tears around the room. Afterwards everyone rushed to get down onto the beach more wonderful wedding photographs in the September sunshine. The little bridesmaids thought it was great, but weren’t so keen on leaving to go and start the wedding breakfast. Afterwards – to everyones delight – a vintage ice-cream van courtesy of Mr B’s in Hayle turned up. Katie had booked it as a surprise for Bobby, and she leapt into the van & started serving ice-creams! I’m not sure who was most excited, but the hotel grounds quickly filled up with wedding guests holding ice-cream cones!
We rounded the evening of Cornish wedding photography off with our ‘photo booth’. A chance for everyone to put on a daft wig and write a blackboard message to the bride & groom. Ok we usually find that some guests just like having photos taken of themselves (and that’s perfectly fine!) but everyone joins in and it’s a brilliant way to thank the happy couple for a fab day.
Katie & Bobby, we had huge fun at your wedding and you are truly a special couple. We wish you all the luck & love in the world for your future together x
Another wonderful day of wedding photography at the Carbis Bay Hotel, near St Ives in Cornwall.
It was the second time that this lovely couple have got married – to each other! They chose the beautiful Carbis Bay Hotel as their perfect venue, and their daughter Victoria (a professional wedding planner) came in rather handy with the organization, and what a wonderful job everyone did. The pink theme was girly, beautiful & everywhere! The room looked amazing, the guests were all incredibly happy, and Jackie looked absolutely radiant. After the ceremony the family headed to the beach where the grandchildren had great fun letting off steam, and we captured some wonderful photographs of the wedding party on one of Cornwall’s finest beaches.
Back at the hotel the Godrevy Room was transformed into the reception room, with more fabulous colours & treats for the grandchildren. But the biggest treat was the cake – a complete surprise for Colin – made in the shape of the top table with models of all the wedding party wearing their wedding outfits! We only met on the day and spent a few hours with them, but Jackie & Colin were so chilled they were an absolute joy to be with. Our very best wishes to you both and to all of your lovely family x
As a wedding photographer in Devon and Cornwall you become used to the vagaries of the west country weather. Unfortunately there was no beautiful Cornish sunshine for Ken & Claire at their Carbis Bay hotel wedding – but they really didn’t mind! Claire positively glowed, and although Ken looked a touch nervous (its allowed…) they were both so happy to be finally marrying their childhood sweethearts that even a hurricane couldn’t have spoiled their day!
As usual the ceremony room looked beautiful, and the intimate gathering of close family & friends were a truly happy bunch! There were a few tears of emotion during the ceremony before everyone braved the rain at the poolside to let off loads of brightly coloured balloons and watched as they merrily floated off like a rainbow coloured cloud in the direction of St Ives.
We wish you both a wonderful happy future together x
