Our very last wedding of 2017, a tiny occasion with just Tom, Lydia, their two guests and their beautiful baby! The days between Christmas and New Year can be a bit dull even in beautiful Cornwall (collapsing on the sofa with a box of choccies can sometimes lose its charm…) so I was super pleased when Tom booked me for their wedding. Everything was casual, the Carbis Bay Hotel looked beautifully Christmassy and even the weather behaved itself. Bit of a fresh breeze(!) and the sea was having a tantrum, but Tom & Lydia were happy to brave the beach! We wish them every happiness for a fabulous future 🙂 (more…)

Carina & Kev at St Dominic Parish Church & Pentillie Castle
Every now and again we photograph a wedding that has to be described as epic! Carina & Kev’s fabulous summer day at Pentillie Castle was amazing from start to finish. Carina brought her beloved vintage VW Beetle and Camper as props for the day and was decorating them when we arrived. I must confess to being jealous here as I’ve always really want a classic VW! The marquee looked fantastic and Carina’s summery colour scheme of bright sunflowers and berry shades with lace on the chiavari chairs looked so pretty. The country theme continued with the table decorations of tiny green wellies and feathers, with each table being named after a gunmaker. (more…)
Clare & Carl at The Guildhall St Ives & Porthminster Beach (with a mermaid!)
Claire & Carl’s sunny St Ives wedding was a lovely laid-back affair. They chose The Guildhall in St Ives for their ceremony, which was attended by just a handful of close family. After the short but emotional ceremony we headed of to Porthminster Beach for some photos, with a rather special surprise on the way for their daughter. Claire & Carl had arranged for the St Ives Mermaid to put in an appearance, much to the delight of the whole wedding party and surrounding tourists! She posed for a lot of photos (not just ours!) and presented the rather awe-struck little girl with her very own mermaid.
Porthminster Beach was busy – as you’d expect on a lovely sunny day – so we headed to a quieter spot for some photos. The children had a great time racing around and I think the grown-ups had just as much fun! Claire & Carl wanted to keep the whole wedding casual so my time with them was short but lovely. Its a wonderful perk of being a wedding photographer in Cornwall to be involved in so many different types of wedding celebrations! I left the family enjoying some beach time before their party continued at a restaurant in the evening.
A lovely day for a lovely little family. Best wishes to you all for a continued happy future 🙂

Bride & Groom with Black Swans on Portreath Beach
Occasionally things change and it just works out for the better. At April & Richard’s Gwel an Mor wedding on Saturday we were hoping to visit the beach for photos earlier in the day. A change of timings meant we had to delay the beach until the evening, and we’re rather glad we did! There were five black swans on the beach when we arrived and lots of interested locals. The natural reaction was to include the swans in some of our photos – slightly tricky because you can’t tell a swan where to stand, and they’re awfully big close up! I confess I didn’t appreciate quite how rare these beautiful creatures are until the story got picked up by the local news & Pirate FM.
So here is an official photo of our gorgeous bride & groom – April & Richard – with five rare black swans on Portreath Beach in Cornwall 🙂
Liz & Geoff at The Harbour Hotel in St Ives
Last July we spent a fun afternoon photographing Liz & Geoff’s wedding in the stunning venue of The Harbour Hotel in St Ives. Liz & Geoff had made the decision to walk down the aisle together, and to get ready together too. Geoff did look slightly out of his comfort zone in a room full of bridal preparations and then helping to lace up Liz’s beautiful dress, but he coped splendidly!
The weather was kind to us – how fantastic are those skies?! – and after the laid-back ceremony everyone rushed to the beach for a sneaky ice-cream or paddle. Days like this don’t get much better, and we always say that being wedding photographers in Cornwall is the most enjoyable job 🙂
Since then we’ve put together a couple of wonderful storybooks for the family, which reminded us all over again what a lovely day it had been. Liz & Geoff we wish you all the very best for a very happy life together 🙂

Abi & Nick at The Carbis Bay Hotel in Cornwall
An absolutely gorgeous wedding at The Carbis Bay Hotel! Not a whole lot of blue sky, but we made the most of what we got. Abi looked stunning in her beautiful floaty dress and floral headdress, family & friends were great fun, and there was a lovely relaxed feeling to the day 🙂
Currrently Featuring on the Wed Magazine Website…
So nice to see our photography featuring on Wed Magazine Website at the moment! This image advertising the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay was taken last year at the beautiful wedding of Shelley & Dan. Jess from Type Media asked if they could use it and of course we were happy to help 🙂
Fun With Sparklers….A Sneaky Peek at Danielle & Ryan’s Falmouth Wedding
Last weekend we had the thoroughly enjoyable task of photographing the re-vow ceremony of Ryan and the beautiful Danielle! It took place at St Michaels Hotel & Spa in Falmouth, which I must say is one of our favourite venues for cornish wedding photography!
Danielle & Ryan were keen to have some sparkler photos…and we threw in one of our favourite led heart shots as well 🙂 Special thanks to Martin for assisting with the sparkler-waving – all that running around was well worth it!
Have a wonderful honeymoon you two. We’re looking forward to showing you the rest of the photos when you get back x

Catherine & John at Pentillie Castle
Back at the end of September 2014 we spent our own wedding anniversary working……photographing another wedding! But we didn’t mind at all, in fact we had a brilliant day with Catherine & John and their fabulous family & friends 🙂
Pentillie Castle and Estate is definitely one of our favourite places to be. Our own studio is literally just across the road and how lucky are we!!
Catherine & John were so chilled about the whole day they were an absolute joy to work with. Every detail was beautiful, especially the brilliant Flowers by Catherine – flowers in muddy boots – perfect for a farmer.
The highlight of a Pentillie wedding is being driven around the estate in a landrover full of mud, hanging on for dear life and trying to stop cameras bouncing all over the interior! Its well worth it for the views though – such fabulous photo opportunities 🙂
We’re looking forward to more Pentillie Castle wedding photography this year, and this certainly was a lovely day for a wonderful couple. If you’re planning a wedding there why not get in touch. You can see lots more images from this gorgeous wedding on our facebook page.

Leni & Mike at Tregenna Castle Hotel
We rarely photograph a wedding without meeting the bride & groom beforehand, but with Leni’s hectic work schedule it just wasn’t possible. Several phone conversations later and I was really looking forward to meeting them both…you just can’t go wrong when you’re being booked on a recommendation and the venue is as beautiful as Tregenna Castle!
We certainly weren’t disappointed when they turned out to be the one of the most chilled-out couples we’ve ever met!
The day was just perfect and even the weather behaved itself. Being a Cornwall wedding photographer on days like this is really the best job in the world, and the images taken by the pavillion in the evening are some of our favourites from last season.
