Anna & Desh’s (actually Andrew but who are we to argue with a nickname!) sunny October wedding was just so much fun.  Anna slightly overran at the hairdressers in the morning – well she had warned me that timekeeping wasn’t her strong point 🙂 – but it really didn’t matter because I got time to chat with the Tuk Tuk driver!  Meanwhile Robb met up with Desh and the boys at the Cathedral (ok pub first!) for some photos.  Anna wanted to keep everything very relaxed & reportage and we were happy to oblige. Vania & Simon at Dartington Hall – Devon Wedding Photographer
On a rather grey-with-the-promise-of-blue-sky day in March, I arrived at the gorgeous Dartington Hall in Devon for Vania & Simon’s wedding. Â Vania only wanted a small amount of photography, so I joined them just before the ceremony. Â Its always great to photograph couples with a fun sense of humour, and Vania & Simon have exactly that, cue giggling throughout!
We dodged the rain to take some photos in the stunning gardens. Â We had exclusive use and it was a bit wet underfoot, but full marks to the heroic wedding planner who managed to wield an umbrella, hold Vania’a dress off the ground and hide herself in the pictures all at once! Â And hooray!! the rain stopped and the sun came out.
Entering into the spirit of the medieval hall, special mention has to go to Vania’s dad who actually made the medieval ‘beer & photo booth’ himself!  And so I left them partying on 🙂  It was an absolute pleasure to share a very tiny part of their special day. Huge congratulations to them both x

Wedding Fireworks at Kitley House Hotel
Probably one of our favourite photos this winter. Fireworks at Kitley House Hotel for Fran & Dean’s wedding. If you’re thinking of booking some fireworks for your wedding its a brilliant way to end the evening 🙂

Nicky & Chris at Langdon Court Hotel – Devon Wedding Photographers
Nicky and Chris’ wedding was a real treat because I already knew them pretty well.  From first meeting them at the Royal Cornwall Show, then the family photoshoot on Plymouth Hoe with their gorgeous girls, we were definitely looking forward to their wedding!
Nicky had chosen a fresh spring flowers theme and was rewarded with bright spring sunshine and blue sky on the day.  Two very excited girls couldn’t wait to get into their princess dresses to look like their Mum, who wore a beautiful lace trimmed shorter-length dress.  Nicky was so calm she was an absolute masterclass in bridal serenity!  And I have to say that Chris was very laid-back too 🙂
Langdon Court is a fabulous venue and after the ceremony the guests enjoyed drinks outside while we took some photos in the beautiful gardens. Â Speeches followed and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room when one of the girls read out the poem she had written titled ‘wedding’.
A beautiful day with such friendly people it was an absolutely joy to be a part of.  Nicky & Chris (and girls!) we wish you all the best for a long and happy future together 🙂

Plymouth Herald Featured Editorial – How to Choose a Photographer
Well I don’t really like having my photo taken – much prefer to be behind the camera photographing beautiful weddings in Cornwall & Devon – but it was nice to be featured in the Plymouth Herald’s Weekend supplement as a bit of an expert!  Heres our article, with a simply lovely photo of me clutching our Westcountry Wedding Award for Best Bespoke Photography 2014  🙂
Natalie & Ryan at Boringdon Park Golf Club
We were really looking forward to Natalie & Ryan’s wedding for lots of reasons: we already know Natalie’s family (having photographed sister Nicola’s wedding back in 2010) and they’re lovely lovely people.  Boringdon Park Golf Club in Plymouth is a brilliant venue and the scenery is spectacular.  Natalie is great fun and extremely photogenic…I could go on and on!  Its a real perk of being a wedding photographer when you get to photograph a family more than once.  Natalie & Ryan’s son Callum provided the highlight for me, his speech was unexpected and brilliant and deservedly received the best applause!  The day was fantastic from start to finish – we just knew it would be…
