Every now and again we photograph a wedding that has to be described as epic! Carina & Kev’s fabulous summer day at Pentillie Castle was amazing from start to finish. Carina brought her beloved vintage VW Beetle and Camper as props for the day and was decorating them when we arrived. I must confess to being jealous here as I’ve always really want a classic VW! The marquee looked fantastic and Carina’s summery colour scheme of bright sunflowers and berry shades with lace on the chiavari chairs looked so pretty. The country theme continued with the table decorations of tiny green wellies and feathers, with each table being named after a gunmaker.
Robb disappeared off to the Who’d Have Thought It Inn at St Dominic to meet up with Kev and the boys, while I indulged in another of my favourite things – photographing some gorgeous Irregular Choice shoes! At this point I must mention the wedding transport. Carina’s family own Burcombe Haulage, hence the huge & extremely shiny lorries. But the star was undeniably the American Peterbilt Truck that Carina’s Dad Richard drove her to church in. I think I’m right in saying that its Richard’s pride & joy. It certainly turned a few heads!
St Dominic Church was absolutely packed for what was a really lovely service, and this was the first time we’d photographed an exit arch of hockey sticks too, courtesy of Carina’s team mates. Before heading to the reception Carina, Kev and the big truck headed to Halton Quay for some pictures. Its a popular spot for picnics, so there was a small curious crowd when the truck arrived! Its a beautiful place on the river and one of Pentillie’s most popular photo opportunities (the bathing hut) can just be seen in the background. Back at Pentillie the food was warming up, courtesy of Big Pan Parties, and everyone was enjoying the fabulous weather and view from the castle.
Of course we had to head off to the Bathing Hut afterwards for some more gorgeous photos. The weather was just so kind to us all day! Considering that both Carina & Kev said they weren’t keen on having photos taken I think they did pretty well 🙂 I also have to thank Charlotte from Kite Vision, who did the video and very kindly acted as my chauffeur for the day!
Such a fantastic day, Carina & Kev we wish you every happiness for a long and happy future together xx
